Je n'avais pas encore eu l'occasion de parler de tout le bien que je pense du dernier album du producteur androgyne canadien, Tiga. "Ciao!" est un recueil d'electro-pop déclinée à toutes les sauces, à toutes les influences. Au delà de ses incroyables talents de DJ, Tiga a trouvé sa voie et sa voix. Je suis d'ailleurs tombé sous le charme de son dernier maxi issu de l'album, "Beep Beep Beep", dont chaque remixe vaut le coup, avec une préférence pour celui des deux frères belges de Soulwax.

Alan Braxe qui a ressuscité son label Vulture, Fred Falke avec quelques maxis sortis, Air qui revient à la rentrée avec un album, ne manquent plus que Daft Punk et Cassius pour compléter le tableau d'un retour de la French Touch 1.0. Pour Daft Punk, on attendra tandis qu'avec Cassius, on peut écouter un nouveau maxi "Youth Speed Trouble Cigarettes" inattendu et surprenant. J'ai toujours un faible pour Cassius et dès la première écoute de "Y-S-T-C", j'ai de suite accroché. A vous de me dire si vous également.

Quand le soleil commence tout doucement sa descente en fin de journée, je n'ai jamais trouvé mieux comme musique que la drum'n'bass jazzy, son côté lounge et pêchu colle idéalement. Quel titre choisir par exemple ? Je vous conseille le dernier "Summertime" de Chris Coco remixé par Afterlife et vous ne le regretterez pas.

Même si dernièrement le label français Kitsuné avait perdu un peu de sa suprême, sa dernière compilation "Kitsuné Maison" n'étant pas formidable, il faut continuer à faire confiance aux fondateurs Gildas et Massaya pour leur flair. Et leur signature de Maybb le prouve avec un signe de retour aux sources ? On retrouve cette électro énergique des débuts de Kitsuné et à l'écoute de "Touring In NY", je ne peux m'empêcher de trouver un filiation forte avec "Texas" de Benjamin Theves présent sur le premier volume "Kitsuné Maison".

Even if recently the French label Kitsuné had lost a little bit of its supreme, its last compilation "Kitsuné Maison" was not really great but it is necessary to continue to rely to the founders Gildas and Massaya for their intuition to discover new artists. Quel plaisir de découvrir que le peu médiatisé mais véritable valeur sure de Ninja Tune, le bien nommé Bonobo est de retour avec un single à paraître à la rentrée, "The Keeper". Du Bonobo dans la pure tradition, une balade nu-soul avec sa nouvelle trouvaille, la chanteuse Andreya Triana. Ma plénitude estivale.

Il faut parfois faire abstraction d'a priori comme lorsque j'ai découvert Jordan Evane, un producteur français qui, en voyant sa photo et la boîte de nuit à la Baule où il mixe, n'avait rien pour me plaire. Sauf que son maxi "1983" (sa date de naissance ?) est une bombe d'electro house imparable pour les dancefloors.

Le morceau "Day' N' Nite" n'est plus à présenter, le rappeur Kid Cudi est passé à la postérité, les Crookers avec leur remix se sont faits connaître sur le sol américain. Le nombre de remixes de ce titre est énorme. Il n'en manquait plus qu'un : la version beatbox. Pas de machine, juste des cordes vocales pour recréer le morceau. Nous le devons au trio d'inconnus, De Grote Vinnie, Donnie et Sjakie Show. Chapeau !

L'été est souvent marqué au fer rouge d'une chanson dance. Il y a la connue, celle qui se vend par millions, et les autres. Parmi ces dernières, j'ai fini par en trouver une très bonne. Alors direction Ibiza, le Pacha et le producteur Simon Faz qui nous sort une "Music" ultra entraînante. Certainement pas le morceau de la décennie mais parfait pour passer cet été.

The summer is often associated with a dance song. There is always one famous, the one which is sold by millions, and the others. Among these last ones, I found a nice track. So direction to Ibiza, the Pasha and the producer Simon Faz who takes out us a "Music" dancefloor oriented. Maybe not the tune of the decade but perfect to spend this summer.

Inconditionnel des composition de l'américain Johnny Jewel, je regrette qu'il ne soit pas plus reconnu que cela. Celui qui se cache derrière Glass Candy, The Chromatics, bref toutes les productions (ou presque) du label Italians Do It Better, a une nouvelle muse, un canadienne de Montréal, Meagan Louise. Totalement sous le charme de cette voix enfantine, Johnny Jewel a trouvé une nouvelle source d'inspiration. Bien sûr, on reste dans ces ambiances de downtempo nu-disco très années 80. J'ai une certaine impatience à découvrir l'album "II", surtout depuis l'écoute d'un premier titre "Dans Mes Rêves", sorte de contine, de machine à songes, de cachet pour planer.

Il existe un proverbe arabe qui dit "Une tradition commence la première fois". C'est en 2007 que j'ai démarré cette tradition, proposer ma bande originale estivale. Et voici donc la troisième édition, "One Summer in 2009", où chaque morceau sélectionné est dédié à une situation : un hall d'aéroport, une plage, une promenade dans les rues, une virée nocturne, un moment de solitude, une visite, une sieste... Bref tout ce qui fait un été, en espérant que ce mix vous accompagnera tout le long d'une saison ensoleillée.

There is an Arabic proverb which says "A tradition begins the first time". It is in 2007 when I started this tradition, to propose my summer soundtrack. And here is thus the third edition(publishing), "One Summer in 2009", when every selected piece is dedicated to a situation: a hall of airport, a beach, a walk in streets, a night-stroll, one moment of solitude, a visit, a siesta... In brief all which makes one summer, by hoping that this mix will accompany you during a sunny season.

Grosse exclusivité : Vitalic, l'incroyable producteur techno français, père des hymnes "La Rock 01" et "Poney Part" vient de mettre en ligne une vidéo pour apprécier sa dernière production "Your Disco Song", en attendant son prochain album prévu pour septembre. Plus électro que techno, avec un zeste de pop, Vitalic donne l'impression d'avoir signé chez Kitsuné ou Modular. Bref il nous a pris par surprise, reste à découvrir ce qu'il nous réserve sur l'album.

Quel plaisir d'écouter l'album "Keep It Unreal" d'un des symboles du label anglais Ninja Tune, Mr Scruff ! 10 ans après sa sortie, "Keep It Unreal" sur lequel on trouve son plus gros hit "Get A Move On" est réédité en version remasterisée. Pour ceux qui n'ont jamais porté attention à ce bidouilleur de génie, c'est le moment ou jamais. J'ai toujours un faible pour "Cheeky", un titre nu-jazz divin qui déborde de groove langoureux.

Un obscur label, Black Booty Records, un producteur inconnu, Floor Faction, un remixeur anglais tout aussi inconnu, Jonnie Polyester, et un morceau house tiré du fameux "Miss You" des Rolling Stones qui remporte les suffrages des dancefloors dès les premières secondes. "Your Missus" est d'une évidence incroyable et divinement succulent.

Restons dans la musique électronique avec Milton Jackson qui s'est remarqué avec son dernier album sorti il y a quelques mois "Crash". Une vraie révélation pour moi, qui à travers la sortie en maxi de "1998", un vieux morceau de l'écossais me plonge dans l'été. Ce morceau aux ambiances lounge est d'une pure beauté, d'une sensualité extrême, d'une volupté adaptée aux soirées ensoleillées. Une tournée pour tous !

A true revelation for me, who through the new EP release of "1998", an old track of the Scot plunges me into summer. This tune with ambient and lounge atmospheres is of a pure beauty, an extreme sensualism, a delight adapted in the sunny evenings.

Le King Of Pop nous a quittés. Malheureusement il n'aura jamais réussi ces 15 dernières années à retrouver son trône. Pour lui rendre hommage, il fallait au moins un clip, un tube, une mise en scène et une chorégraphie, donc ce sera "Thriller"mais sous une nouvelle monture pour un clin d'oeil à base de légos, des jouets pour enfant. Sacré Bambi !!

King Of Pop just left us. Regrettably he have not been able for the last 15 years to reconquer his throne. To honour him, it was needed at least a music video, an anthem and a great choreography, thus it will be "Thriller" but under a new frame for a wink based on legos, toys for children. Rest in peace Bambi!
