The Go! Team est une vraie équipe où chacun a un rôle bien défini, où des transferts peuvent être opérés comme au football, où les nationalités sont diverses. Ian Parton, Sam Dook, Chi "Ky" Fukami Taylor, Kaori Tsuchida remplacé par Silke Steidinger, Jamie Bell et Ninja donnent un bel exemple de parité avec 3 filles dont la chanteuse et 3 garçons.
Au départ, the Go! Team était un projet solo de Ian Parton qui sortit un premier EP "Get It Together" en 2000, que remarqua le mythique présentateur radio John Peel. Le premier album de "Thunder, Lightning, Strike" sort en 2004, sur le label Memphis Industries. Il reçut un excellent accueil critique avec même une nomination aux Mercury Music Prize. Composé de nombreux morceaux instrumentaux, des extraits de cet album ont souvent figurés dans des publicités ou émissions de télévisions. Avec 2 batteurs (!), The Go! Team créé un mélange de beats hip-hop, de samples, de guitares et de chants, sous l'égidé d'un funk des années 70 et d'une énergie débordante. Un nouvel album est annoncé pour bientôt, heureusement pour nous faire patienter un premier maxi est déjà disponible.
