Agoria, c'est un homme, Sébastien Devaux, lyonnais bercé dans la musique depuis le jour de sa naissance, un parent chanteur d'opéra se chargeant de son éducation sonore. Depuis 10 ans il se trimballe de clubs en clubs où il mixe et développe un vraie maîtrise pour tenir un dancefloor en émoi. Déjà remarqué en tant que DJ, il ne pouvait s'empêcher de démontrer son talent de producteur avec une techno version Detroit.
Dès 2002, le buzz commence à monter autour d'Agoria avec un premier maxi "La Onzième Marche" qui en renversa plus d'un dont Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, etc. Il lui restait à confirmer avec son premier album "Blossom", une des meilleures sorties de 2003. Cette oeuvre brillante trouva son public et il ne pouvait en être autrement comme le prouve "Les Beaux Jours". Toujours chez Different Recordings, Agoria revient avec "The Green Armchair" où comme sur le premier opus qui accueillait Tricky, les featurings sont nombreux : Neneh Cherry (qui revient en force sur la scène musicale. Voir la chronique sur Cirkus) sur le morceau "Million Miles", Peter Murphy (Bauhaus) pour une prestation très Bowienne sur "Edenbridge" and Princess Superstar. L'album est un concentré alternant une techno énergique et organique aux influences du label Border Community ("Europa") et des titres d'électro-pop débridée et eccentrique. Mission accomplie pour Agoria dont le retour est assurément réussie.
Comment passer à côté de "1026" ? Il raisonne partout en ce moment, est repris dans les sets de Tiga, Felix Da Housecat, James Holden, Carl Craig ou encore Adam Freeland. On dirait du Daft Punk, du Vitalic ou du Garnier : une formidable montée en intensité couplée à une rudesse du son pour placer "1026" au panthéon de la techno.

How to pass beside “1026” ? It reasons everywhere nowaadays, is included in all sets of Tiga, Felix Da Housecat, James Holden, Carl Craig or Adam Freeland. It is a concentrate of Daft Punk, Vitalic or Laurent Garnier : a formidable rise in intensity coupled to a sound roughness to place “1026” at the Hall of Fame of techno music.
