Inutile de présenter Depeche Mode qui est un groupe incontournable traversant actuellement leur troisième décénie sans encombre. Malgré une ambiance douteuse voire malsaine au sein du groupe, leur talent est intacte enchaînant les albums sans souci. Une valeur constante de qualité offrant son lot d'inspiration pour toute la scène électronique mondiale et un rôle d'imagination sans précédent aux dizaines voire centaines de remixeurs.
Les 3 compères sortent en 2005 "Playing The Angel" toujours chez Mute, onzième album. Très attendu, cet opus est réussi et même très réussi car l'on ressent de nouveau cette osmose au sein du groupe qui manquait tant sur leur deux précédent albums. La puissance de "Playing The Angel" provient du savant mélange de leur deux principales périodes, techno pop industrielle et électro. Enfin il existe une particularité qui réside dans la présence de trois morceaux composés par le chanteur du groupe Dave Gahan, alors que Martin Gore en gardait l'exclusivité. Ce fut douloureux à accepter pour ce dernier mais cette alchimie apporte une vitalité supplémentaire.
Parmi ces trois titres justement, "Suffer Well" a le potentiel d'un tube, chanson pop rock à la guitare menaçante et au tempo enlevé. Mais que dire alors de la version revisitée par M83 qui réussit un remix prestigieux parvenant à extraire la sève d'une "souffrance agréable" pour la distiller et récupérer un résidu d'ébullition qui fait frémir l'auditeur. Et une tournée pour tout le monde !

But what to say about the version revisited by M83 who presents a prestigious remix managing to extract the sap from a "well suffering" to distil it and recover a residue of boiling which makes quiver the listener.
