Arnaud Rebotini est un nom qui ne doit pas vous dire grand chose et pourtant pour ceux qui affectionnent la musique électronique, c'est un grand monsieur issu du sérail versaillais où ses copains de lycée s'appelaient Nicolas Godin de Air, Etienne de Crécy et Alex Gopher. Véritable pionnier, il a toujours utilisé des pseudonymes dont le principal est Zend Avesta en solo ou encore Black Strobe en collaboration avec Ivan Smagghe.
Aussi passionné par la musique contemporaine expérimentale que par DJ Shadow ou Slayer, Arnaud Rebotini est un producteur dont les remixes pour Oliver Huntemann ou encore Zen Kei, sont divins. Aussi à l'aise à la Cité de la Musique qu'au Rex Club, il développe une techno organique parfois minimaliste, creusant un peu plus le sillon créé par Black Strobe. Il arrive sur le label de The Hacker, Good Life, avec un maxi "The Wood" qui est un hommage à la techno issue de Detroit, un hommage pour les (grand)-pères fondateurs. "The Wood" et sa basse hypnotique rappelle à l'évidence les premières productions de Jeff Mills et Robert Hood.
"Leviathan" est la face B de cet opus et mériterait la mention A. Plus influencée par le minimalisme des américains Steve Reich et Terry Riley, Arnaud Rebotini fait preuve d'un sens du groove mélancolique comme jamais je n'avais pu l'entendre. Un morceau grandiose dont la montée progressive offre une explosion fulgurante au terme de 8 minutes et 15 secondes.

As impassioned by the experimental contemporary music as by DJ Shadow or Slayer, Arnaud Rebotini is a producer whose remixes for Oliver Huntemann or Zen Kei, are divine. As at ease in the Cité de la Musique (contemporary music temple in France) as in Rex Club, he develops an organic techno sometimes minimalist, digging a little more the furrow created by Black Strobe. He signed on the label of The Hacker, Good Life, with an EP “The Wood” which is a homage to the Detroit techno, a homage for (grand)-fathers founders. “The Wood” and its hypnotic bassline obviously point out the first productions of Jeff Mills and Robert Hood.

More influenced by the minimalism of American Steve Reich and Terry Riley, Arnaud Rebotini shows a direction of a melancholic groove sense as never I had not been able to listen. An imposing track whose progressive rise offers an fulgurating explosion at the end : 8 minutes and 15 seconds of intense pleasure.
