Bunny Lake est un trio autrichien. Une fois de plus, Vienne se fait remarquer avec un groupe de post-punk, une sorte new wave electro-clash qui s'essoufflait ces derniers temps. Heureusement les 3 compères, une fille, Suzy On The Rocks, et deux garçons, Christian Fuchs et Dr. Nachstrom, apportent leur folie et une certaine nostalgie (des années 80) qui leur permettent de sortir du lot.
C'est sur le label, Klein Records, que Bunny Lake signe et sort très prochainement "The Church Of Bunny Lake", une réminiscence de Depeche Mode première époque en plus déjanté et dark. J'ai été subjugué par la qualité de composition et de production du trio. Et que dire de la fantastique voix de la chanteuse qui rappellera Debbie Harry de Blondie, comme sur "Got The Fever". “She’s On The Run” est du pur Depeche Mode, illustrant fidèlement le style de Bunny Lake, tandis que "Twisted Forever” devrait leur ouvrir les portes d'une reconnaissance bien plus large. En résumé, une moitié de l'album est de la new wave bien léchée, l'autre moitié est une électro-clash de bonne facture. Un des albums de la rentrée.
Avec notamment le titre "Beautiful Car Crash" qui tourne en boucle chez moi. Bunny Lake sur ce coup, semble s'être inspiré des dernières productions de Goldfrapp. L'electro-clash dans la pure tradition, une ligne de basse syncopée, un beat binaire limite jazzy et toujours cette voix, (dés)enchantée, aux atouts de séduction incroyables.

It is on the label, Klein Records, Bunny Lake signs and is going to release very soon “The Church Of Bunny Lake”, a reminiscence of first period Depeche Mode in more dark atmosphear. I was subjugated by the quality of composition and production of the trio. And What to say about the fantastic voice of the singer who reminds Debbie Harry of Blondie, as on “Got The Fever”. “She's On The Run” is a pure Depeche Mode song, illustrating accurately the style of Bunny Lake, while “Twisted Forever” should open the doors of an international recognition. In short, half of the album is a well licked new wave, the other half is a nice electro-clash. One of the albums of the end 2007.
With in particular the song “Beautiful Bus Crash landing” which turns in repeat mode at home. Bunny Lake on this track seems to have taken as a starting point of the Goldfrapp's last productions. Electro-clash in the pure tradition, a syncopated bassline, binary jazzy beat and always this voice, (dice)magic, with an incredible asset of seduction.
