Depuis 2004, le haut lieu de la nuit hambourgeoise s'appelle Moonbootica, ouvert par deux DJs : Tobitob et KoweSix. En un rien de temps, Moonbootica est devenu l‘un des hauts lieux de la nuit hambourgeoise et sa réputation dépasse les frontières allemandes. Ils ont même créé un label Moonbootique pour les soirées qu‘ils organisent et les opus qu'ils éditent.
Ils sortent en 2005 leur premier album éponyme dont la pochette vaut le détour pour sa photo version année 80 Top 50, les 2 protagonistes lunettes de soleil sur le nez, les cheveux enduis de gel et chemise ouverte sur un corps imberbe. Mise à part cette supercherie, ils présentent un electro-techno-rock assez vintage (on sent une influence importante de Depeche Mode) telle que la tendance actuelle le souhaite. On retrouve le même genre de son chez Daft Punk ou encore Mr. Oizo. "Moonbootica" semble vouer à rester une oeuvre confidentielle mais respectée. A noter la reprise très personnelle de "Bonnie and Clyde" de Serge Gainsbourg.
La sortie en 2006 du EP "Mopedgang" est l'occasion pour moi de parler de ce titre que je trouve sensationnelle : prenez Depeche Mode période "Music For The Masses" pour la partie mélodie et Vitalic "Poney Part 1" pour les sonorités brutes et une envolée technoide fulgurante. Du lourd élégant qui devrait ravir bon nombre des abonnés aux pistes de danse !
Since 2004, the high place of the night from Hambourd is called Moonbootica, opened by two DJs : Tobitob and KoweSix. After few months, Moonbootica became one of the hottest place of German night clubs and its reputation exceeds the German borders. They even created a label Moonbootique for parties they organize and opus they release.
They recorded in 2005 their first self-titled album whose cover is funny with the Eighties picture where the 2 protagonists sunglasses on the nose, the hair coat gel and lines open on a beardless body. Put besides this trickery, they present a electro-techno-rock'n'roll (sometimes it reminds me some Depeche Mode songs) enough vintage such as the current tendency wishes it. One finds the same kind of sound at Daft Punk or Mr. Oizo. “Moonbootica” seems to dedicate to remain a confidential but respected work. To note the very personal resumption of Serge Gainsbourg's “Bonnie and Clyde".
The exit in 2006 of the EP “Mopedgang” is the occasion for me of speaking about this track I find sensational : take Depeche Mode period “Music For The Masses” for the melody and Vitalic “Pony Part 1” for rough sonorities and a techno fulgurating flight. Heavy & elegant which should charm many subscribers to the dancefloors!
