Même si le nom The Lotterboys peut amener à penser à des groupes de Dance peu respectables, il faut prendre son courage à deux mains et rechercher qui se cachent derrière. Et en peu de temps, vous découvririez qu'il s'agit d'un projet de collaboration entre Fetisch (Terranova, groupe culte d'abstract hip-hop), Shapemod (Terranova) et Mack Goudy Jr. (aka Paris The Black Fu des Detroit Grand Pubahs). Cet assemblage peu commun de personnalités s'avère une vraie force où chacun apporte ses influences, ses qualités et ses techniques de production. On dit bien que l'union fait la force !
Après quelques maxis sortis sur Eskimo Recordings, il était temps de passer au format album avec "Animalia". L'objectif était clairement annoncé : créer un lien entre l'électro, le punk funk, la disco, l'indie-rock et le p-funk. Le trio se répartissent les tâches : Fetish et Shapemod déjà ensemble dans le cadre d'un projet techno, The Cosmonauts of Innerspace, sorti sur le label Gigolo, s'occupent des compositions des morceaux à l'inspiration Funkadelic tandis que Paris The Black Fu pose sa voix immanquable et reconnaissable parmi des centaines. D'un titre à l'autre vous serez balladés d'une genre à un autre (pensez à Prince avec "Cadillac & Mac", à Black Sabbath avec "Iron Man") avec une cohérence vraiment déroutante.
"Blazer" est un titre strictement instrumental et d'une simplicité extrême : une trompette, une basse lourde et funky, une guitare et batterie bien rock'n'roll. C'est imparable pour créer une émeute dansante. Vivement de les voir en live pour une bouffée énergisante.

And in little time, you would discover that it is a project of collaboration between Fetisch (Terranova, worship group of abstract hip-hop), Shapemod (Terranova) and Mack Goudy Jr. (aka Paris The Black Fu from Detroit Grand Pubahs). This uncommon assembly of personalities proves it is a true force where each one brings his influences, his qualities and his production techniques. From one track to another you will be travel from a kind of music to another (think about Prince with “Cadillac & Mac”, about Black Sabbath with “Iron Man”) with a coherence really diverting.
“Blazer” is a strictly instrumental track with an extreme simplicity : a trumpet, a heavy and funky bass, a rock'n'roll roll guitar and battery. It is unstoppable to launch a riot on the dancefloor. I am impatient to see them on stage.
