Les quelques personnes qui vous proposent "Blog For Music Lovers" sont des gens simples, simplement férus de bonnes basses et de tempos justes. Ils aiment à se retrouver entre eux, autour d'un bon verre, avec de bons disques. Mais parfois, un bug s'introduit dans la machine et la musique se met à tourner en rond. Tout part en vrille. Tout le monde a son avis. Chacun veut comprendre. L'un d'entre nous veut réentendre la 8. "Non, la 10 !" "Et pourquoi pas la 2 ?"
Au premier abord, Modern Rhapsodies, le premier album de Maxence Cyrin, semble bien incapable de produire un tel effet. Du piano, juste du piano, très Keith Jarrett, un touche de musique sérielle, un doigt de Fazil Say dans la liberté de ton. Oui mais problème, cet album est sorti sur F-Com, le label de Laurent Garnier et Eric Morand. Le paradoxe et à l'échelle de l'audace qui émane de cet OVNI musical. Un LP rempli d'adaptations classiques de grands tubes électro... Bon sang mais c'est bien sûr : pourquoi ne pas y avoir pensé plus tôt ?
S'il est difficile de resortir un titre de l'album (le très attendu Unfinished Sympathy nous semble relativement décevant), la reprise d'Aphex Twin "Windowlicker" a éveillé plus particulièrement notre curiosité. Haaaaaaaa haaa, haaaaaaa haaa hahaaaaa... Un écoute du titre original suffisait à tomber amoureux de ce single légérement barré et follement sensuel. Suprême délice, Maxence Cyrin parvient à en tirer la substantifique moelle tout en y imposant sa propre tonalité. En deux, trois notes répétitives, le monstre se fait doux avant de montrer les dents dans la partie finale.
People from "Blog for music Lovers" are simple persons, just passionated with good bass guitars and right tempo. They like to spend time together, with a glass of wine and beautiful music. But sometimes, a bug arises : music's always the same ! Here's the time of madness ! Everybody has an opinion on everything ! Everybody wants to listen again to the n°8. "No, the n°10 !" "And why not the n°2 !"
First of all, Modern Rhapsodies, the first LP from French Maxence Cyrin, is not ideal to have this effect on our minds. Piano, only piano, like Keith Jarrett, with a little touch of serial music and something about Fazil Say for free style. But it's amazing : you can find this album on F-Com, label from techno-kings Laurent Garnier and Eric Morand. The surprise is as big as the greatness that this album will have in the next years, maybe decades. An album with classical replays from electronic music hits ! Why nobody has had this idea before ?
Even if it remains difficult to choose a tittle in this album (big prospect Unfinish Sympathy is disappointing), the idea to replay "Windowlicker" from Aphex Twin has something more touching than the others for us. Haaaaaaaa haaa, haaaaaaa haaa hahaaaaa... In hundred seconds, you had to fall in love with the original version. Extreme pleasure, Maxime Cyrin has found the way to respect the strengh from the original mix and to add his own spirit. With two, three repetitives notes, the monster becomes a lamb before being converted into a wolf to the end.
