Dès le premier maxi de Candie Payne "All I Need To Hear" sorti en 2006, le décor est fixé : plongez dans les années 60, avec ces sons si typiques de l'époque. Des mélodies pop et légères que vous retrouverez dans l'album "I Wish I Could Have Loved You More" qui vient de sortir sur Deltasonic Records. Candie Payne alterne entre une musique folk voire blues "Hey Goodbye", un rock psyché "In The Morning", "I Wish I Could Have Loved You More" et une musique downtempo entre le Goldfrapp du premier album et Morcheeba à leurs débuts. Que la musique soit dépouillée ou remplie d'orchestrations imposantes, Candie Payne fait preuve d'une maturité incroyable pour un premier album. A elle seule, elle assemble le côté intimiste de Feist, la gravité de Beth Gibbons et la volupté de PJ Harvey.
Le morceau "Why Should I Settle For You ?" est une reminiscence incroyable de Portishead. Ambiance phantomatique et cinématique des sixties dont je rafolle. Sur ce fond de jazz, Candie Payne y pose une voix narrative, détachée et captivante. Un must !

Welcome in the past machine! As of the first EP of Candie Payne “All I Need To Hear” released in 2006, the context is fixed: plunge in the Sixties, with these so typical sounds of that era. Pop and light melodies that you will find in the album “I Wish I Could Have Loved You More” which has just be released on Deltasonic Records. Candie Payne alternates between folk even blues “Hey Goodbye”, a psychedelick rock'n'roll “In The Morning”, “I Wish I Could Cuts Loved You More” and a downtempo between Goldfrapp (of the first album) and Morcheeba at their beginnings. Whether the music is stripped or filled of imposing orchestrations, Candie Payne shows an incredible maturity for a first album. She assembles the intimist side of Feist, the gravity style of Beth Gibbons and the lust of PJ Harvey.
