Stefan Moerth, plus connu sous le nom de Stereotyp, est un des autrichiens faisant partie de l'écurie G-Stone. Toujours en studio, alternant Vienne et New York, il est à la fois producteur et infographiste. Inspiré par le dancehall et l'électronique, il cultive une approche musicale systématiquement sombre et futuriste.
Stereotyp injecte dans ses machines des racines de musiques blacks ou quand la modernité rencontre le passé. Son premier album "My Sound" permettait déjà d'apprivoiser celui qui justement est tout sauf un stéréotype, où l'auditeur est transporté d'une jungle hip-hop ("My Sound", avec Tikiman), du funk ("Don't Funk With Me" avec Cesar), ou encore du dub revu et corrigé à la manière de Rythm & Sound ("All Di Gal Com" avec Collage). Par la suite il s'investit dans un projet avec les allemands d'Al Haca Soundsystem où le ragga et le dancehall deviennent industriels avec un son apre, des breaks métaliques et toujours des featurings de haut vol (MC Ras Tweed, Daddy Freedy ou encore Lady Saw). Restait donc à Stereotyp de se confronter à un nouveau genre black : la soul qu'il transforme en digisoul. Les titres sont plus mélodiques, la mélancolie apparaît (comme sur "Fool For You") où les parties vocales sont nettement mises en avant comme sur "Keepin' Me" dont la performance de Sandra Kurzweil & Daniela Bauer rappellent Lauryn Hill. Cet album est l'occasion de découvrir une facette plus intimiste de Stereotyp même si d'après moi, elle n'est pas la plus captivante.
A contrario, "It's You" a de quoi ensorceler, véritable déclaration d'amour où le doute n'a pas sa place à l'inverse de la douceur qu'offre Sandra Kurzweil accompagnée d'une boucle de synthé syncopée. N'essayez pas de résister, laissez vous envoûter...

His first album “My Sound” already made it possible to tame him that who precisely is all except a stereotype, where the listener is transported of a jungle of hip-hop (“My Sound”, with Tikiman), of funk (“Don't Funk With Me” with Cesar), or of dub revisited as the one of Rythm & Sound (“All Di Gal COM” with Collage). Thereafter he was invested in a project with German Al Haca Soundsystem where ragga and dancehall become industrial with a rough sound, metalic beats and as usual nice featurings (MC Ras Tweed, Daddy Freedy or Lady Saw). Thus remained in Stereotyp to confront himself with a new black style : the soul that he transforms into digisoul. The tracks are more melody, the melancholy appears (as on “Fool For You”) where vocal parts are clearly proposed as on “Keepin' Me” whose performance of Sandra Kurzweil & Daniela Bauer reminding me Lauryn Hill. This album is the occasion to discover a facet more intemist of Stereotyp even if according to me, it is not the most captivating.
Except some songs, for example, “It's You” has to bewitch, a true declaration of love where the doubt does not have its place but softness which Sandra Kurzweil offers accompanied by a loop by a syncopated synthetisor. Do not try to resist, let you bewitch…
