La jungle urbaine attire curiosité ou dégoût. Pour moi, mon choix se fera sur la première et c'est pour cela que New York m'a toujours fascinée, pleine de dangers et de surprises, pleine d'énergies et d'intérêts. Notamment musicaux. Si New York avait perdu de sa suprême, elle restait une éponge de tout ce qui se passait sur les 4 continents et ressurgissait proposant un métissage d'un rock-punk et d'une électronique de boîte de nuit. La Team DFA dont LCD Soundsystem, !!! ou encore The Raptures en sont les quelques illustrations, icônes.
JDH et Dave P sont deux DJs et promoteurs d'une soirée plutôt hype à New York, Fixed. Depuis 2 ans, c'est une profusion de grooves, de rock, d'électro, de disco où une foule plongée dans l'obscurité se sent envahie d'un sentiment de plaisir, d'indécence comme galvanisée par une musique dédiée à cela. Une compilation s'imposait pour laisser une trace de ces sorties nocturnes new yorkaises. Après un premier volume mixé par James Friedman, JDH et Dave P viennent de sortir le second volume "Go Commando" qui rassemble les titres les plus joués voire marquants de l'année 2006. Certains morceaux seront au regard de certains déjà ressassés depuis longtemps mais qu'importe, cette collection est agréable et positivement agressive. A l'image de New York finalement. Dur mais bon !
On débute par Joakim et son excellent "I Wish You Were Gone" pour nous faire partir des années 80. Puis vient le néo-disco de Prins Thomas "Fehrara" auquel s'accroche l'envoûtant "Atto D'Amore" de Serge Santiago. Il est alors temps d'emballer la partie, augmenter la puissance avec "Do Not Break" d'Ellen Allien & Apparat, "Standing In The Way Of Control (Soulwax Remix)" de Gossip, le déjà chroniqué "I Kill Guitar" de Tomboy, l'immanquable "Poney Part 1" de Vitalic... Comme en fin de toute bonne soirée, le moment où la musique s'arrête est rude, on en redemande systématiquement et là par chance on peut continuer en rappuyant sur Play !
