Mieux vaut tard que jamais ! Cet été, j'ai découvert un morceau qui est resté dans mon esprit sans jamais être parvenu jusque là à savoir quel était son titre et son auteur. C'est chose faite maintenant : le coupable est Mason qui a pris en otage tous les dancefloors du monde avec son arme fatale "Exceeder".
Mason qui m'était inconnu jusque là, a un parcours peu ordinaire. Issu d'une famille d'artistes (un sculpteur grecque et une actrice hollandaise), il démarre par la musique classique et le violon, découvre le DJing grâce à la platine de sa grand-mère et finit logiquement par associer les 2, jouant du violon électrique lors de ses sets. Il se fait ainsi remarquer et signe rapidement sur le label hollandais New Royal Flush. Il sort un premier EP "Helikopter" très réussi, mixture d'italo-dance et de breakbeat. Invité par DJ Tiesto pour une tournée, il gagne en maturité pour sortir l'excellent "The Screetch" qui eut un vrai succès auprès des DJ comme Tiga ou Sebastien Leger.
"Exceeder" est donc son troisième EP qui place Mason dans le cercle fermé des DJs producteurs d'exception. Ce morceau est un tube énorme de tech-house funky avec une ligne de basse monstrueuse et une nappe de synthé planante. Tout adepte de sortie nocturne n'a pu passer à côté vu le plébiscite des plus grands DJs du moment (Philippe B., Antoine Clamaran, Richard Grey, Eric Prydz, Joachim Garraud).
Better late than never ! This summer, I discovered an incredible track which remained in my spirit without never knowing which was its title and its author. It's done now : the culprit is Mason who took as an hostage all worldwide dancefloors with his fatal weapon “Exceeder”.
Mason who was unknown for me until now, has a not very ordinary route. Born in an artist family (a Greek sculptor and a Dutch actress), he started by classical music and violin, discovered DJing thanks to the turntable of his grandmother and ended logically up associating the 2, playing of the electric violin during his live sets. He was thus pointed out and signed quickly on the Dutch label New Royal Flush. He released a very successful first EP “Helikopter”, mixture of italo-dance and breakbeat. Invited by DJ Tiesto for a world tour, he gains in maturity to compose the great “The Screetch” which had a true success thanks to the support of the DJ scene such as Tiga or Sebastien Leger.
“Exceeder” is thus his third EP which places Mason in the hal of fame of DJs producers of exception. This track is an enormous anthem of funky tech-house with a monstrous bass line and a planing synthetisor. Any fan of night parties could not pass to side "Exceeder" considering the plebiscite of most of biggest DJs (Philippe B., Antoine Clamaran, Richard Grey, Eric Prydz, Joachim Garraud).
