C'est la période de noël et toutes ses surprises. En musique, suite à l'annonce officielle du tant attendu troisième album de Portishead pour avril 2008 (si, si croyez-moi !), nous voici gâter avec un autre retour improbable, la recomposition du duo autrichien Kruder & Dorfmeister.
Une exclusivité Blog For Music Lovers avec un nouveau morceau commandé par Nokia pour le lancement d'une nouvelle ligne de mobiles. Certes mercantile dans l'approche, cette nouvelle n'en demeure pas moins un événement. Enchanté autant que surpris, c'est avec appréhension que j'ai découvert ce titre. Depuis si longtemps rêvais-je de découvrir un nouveau morceau des deux autrichiens. Retrouveront-ils cette alchimie envoûtante ? Ont-ils évolué ? Au fait à quoi m'attendais-je ? Je ne sais pas vraiment.
Si ce n'est que j'ai été enthousiaste dès la première écoute de "Theme". On retrouve leur patte viennoise, un monde sonore épuré aux séquences abstraites et organiques. Une basse qui renvoie aux meilleurs morceaux de Peace Orchestra, projet de Peter Kruder, une production digne des K&D Sessions où guitare, cordes et synthétiseurs s'enchevêtrent dans une volupté qui m'avait tant subjugué. Les mêmes recettes de grand-mère qui m'ouvrent un appétit de Wiener Schnitzel gargentuesque.

Excited as surprised, it is with apprehension I discovered this track. Since so long I dreamed to discover a new song of the two Austrians. Will they have this mesmerizing alchemy? Have they changed? In fact what was I looking for? I do not know really.
I have been enthusiastic from the first listening to "Theme". We find their Viennese touch, a pure sonic world with abstract sequences and organic sounds. A bass, which reminds the best tracks of Peace Orchestra, Peter Kruder's project, a worthy production as on the K & D Sessions where guitar, strings and keyboards are mating in a delight which enthralled me. The same "grandmother recipes" which give to me a huge appetite for Wiener Schnitzel!
