Adepte d'une techno prudemment dark, The Hacker, de son vrai nom Michel Amato, a trouvé son échappatoire dans les brûmes des dance-floors, là même où il peut vivre sa Goodlife, le nom du label dont il est le co-fondateur avec Oxia. Goodlife, un nom savamment choisi, référence au titre des Dieux du genre Kevin Saunderson et Theo Parrish sous le pseudo Inner City.
Ce sont lors de méga teufs en pleine montagne qu'il rencontre Miss Kittin avec qui il sortira un album qui les propulsera sur le devant de la scène, ou plutôt derrière les platines du monde entier. Ces électreux surfent sur la vague du revival new wave qui agit ces dernières années comme un tsunami emportant tout sur son passage et qui a produit un titre aussi culte que Rock 01 de Vitalic, noir, implacable et puissant. Qu'à ne cela ne tienne, The Hacker prouve que ce mouvement n'est pas qu'un effet de mode, faisant de véritables adeptes dont certains se retrouvent sur GoodLife Records. Son album "Rêves mécaniques", sorti en 2004, est une perle me rappelant les albums de Depeche Mode, tant remixés et parfois même bien remixés.
C'est le cas du titre "Traces" sur lequel Mount Sims, qui sortit quelques maxis sur International Deejay Gigolos Records, apporte une voix masculine. Celle-ci disparait dans ce remix du Français Olivier Raymond, alias Oxia, même si elle transpire encore en filligrane. Oxia s'inspire des Alter Ego, utilise des sonorités brutales et extrait du titre original une cadence à faire trépigner un clubber, à hocher la tête d'un métalleux, à faire rougir un corbeau amateur de new wave voire même à mettre en trance un fumeur de ganja...
