Peder est un artiste multi-talentueux danois. A la fois acteur qui gagna quelques prix dont le Emmy Awars, animateur radio, DJ nominé dans la catégorie meilleur DJ hip-hop danois avec son groupe The Prunes, photographe professionnel et producteur, Peder est assoiffé de travail et surtout un drogué de l'informatique passant des centaines et même des milliers d'heures assis devant un écran d'ordinateur.
Je ne connaissais jusqu'à présent cet homme dont la liste de collaborations est déjà impressionnante entre productions et remixes pour DJ Krush, DJ Vadim, les Roots ou encore les Beastie Boys. Peder, à la suite d'une interview du producteur américain Rick Rubin, décide de prendre quelques distances avec son outil de travail, limiter au maximum l'influence "négative" visuelle apportée par les logiciels de musique assistée par ordinateur (Cubase, Acid...) pour se concentrer uniquement sur les éléments sonores. Comme si Peder était devenu l'esclave de ses yeux qui manipulaient ses capacités auditives ! C'est ainsi qu'est né l'album "And He Just Pointed To The Sky" sur le label Ubiquity Records. L'ambiance est sombre, fantomatique et cinématique captivant l'attention. Aussi downtempo qu'un Wax Taylor, plus jazzy et moins hip-hop, c'est un voyage pour l'imaginaire à travers une majorité d'instrumentaux et quelques titres faisant la part belle à de magnifiques apparitions comme Shawn Lee, Joy Morgan, Nino Moschella, chanteur de soul américain, Dean Bownman, chanteur de gospel, pour un premier album vivement recommandé.
Dans la veine de Slow Train et son mythique "In The Black Of Night", Peder utilise les mêmes recettes pour "White Lilies", titre incontournable de l'album : une boucle de piano soulignée par une ligne de basse synthétique et lourde et une batterie pleine de finesse. Mais notons surtout la chanteuse danoise Ane Trolle qui est remarquable avec une voix profonde et subjuguante rappelant à certains moments le timbre de Beth Gibbons de Portishead. Une révélation.

Environment is dark, ghostly and cinematics captivating the attention of listeners. As downtempo as Wax Taylor, but more jazzy and less hip-hop, it is a trip for imaginary through a majority of instrumental tracks and some tunes with splendid vocal featurings such as Shawn Lee, Joy Morgan, Nino Moschella, American soul singer, Dean Bownman, gospel singer, for a first highly recommanded album.
In the same mood of Slow Train and its mythical “In The Black Of Night”, Peder uses the same receipts for “White Lilies”, best rack of the album : a loop of piano underlined by a synthetic low bassline and smoothness jazz breaks. But let's notice especially the Danish singer Ane Trolle who is remarkable with a deep and subjugating voice reminding the one of Beth Gibbons from Portishead. A revelation.
