Le soleil tape et ces fins de journée donnent envie de divaguer, cassé par la chaleur, parfumé de sable et de sel. A ce tableau, rien de mieux qu'un morceau planant qui vous prend fermement mais tout en douceur. C'est par hasard que je tombe sur deux allemands d'Hambourg, Stimming et Solomun, fondateur du très bon label, Diynamic, et leur titre "Eiszauber" remixé par les vétérans de la deep house allemande, Matthias Vogt and Christian Rindermann. L'alchimie est parfaite, la répétition est hypnotique, les sons issues des machines enivrants, tel un cocktail sucré à siroter sur un sofa posé au milieu d'une plage déserte.

It is incidentally I fall on German duet from Hamburg, Stimming and Solomun, founder of the very good record label, Diynamic, - Eiszauber (Motorcitysoul Remix) and their track " Eiszauber " remixed by the deep house German veterans, Matthias Vogt and Christian Rindermann. Alchemy is here, repetition is hypnotic, sounds coming from axalting machines, such a sweet cocktail to sip on a couch in the middle of an uninhabited beach.
Recloose, Matthew Chicoine, est de retour et c'est une bonne nouvelle. Alors que je continuais toujours à écouter le titre "Dust" depuis la sortie de l'album "Hiatus On Horizon", ce proche de Carl Craig se fait une place supplémentaire dans ma playlist avec le nouveal EP "Deeper Waters" sur lequel, comme sur "Dust", Joe Dukie, dont je suis un fan inconditionnel (sa voix est incroyable), chante à nouveau. En quittant Peacefrog pour Sonar Kollektiv, Recloose a gardé toute l'inspiration pour concocter une soul électronique et downtempo bien agréable en cette saison !

While I always continued listening their song "Dust" since the release of the LP "Hiatus On Horizon", this collaborator of Carl Craig makes an additional place in my playlist with the new EP "Deeper Waters", on which, as on "Dust", Joe Dukie, whose unconditional fan I am (his voice is unconvincing), sings again. By leaving Peacefrog for Sonar Kollektiv, Recloose kept all inspiration to make up an electronic and downtemp soul, perfect for this season!
Je n'oserai pas annoncer que tous ces producteurs qui dans un délire de remixeurs ont agrégé tout ce qui a pu marquer les années 90, parviendront à rendre ce que les journalistes appellent la Fidget House, un style qui explosera ou restera confidentiel. Il n'empêche que pour moi les travaux des Switch, Hervé, Sinden, Crookers et autres sont de véritables excitations, exaltations tant ce mélange de genres me parle. Je comprends ceux qui décriraient ou détesteraient mais pour ceux qui ont été bercés par la Jungle, la House, le Hip-Hop des années 90, et même de ces sons Dance Music, devraient trouver leur intérêt ou plus un vrai plaisir.
L'occasion pour moi de partager mon dernier podcast, un best-of des meilleurs titres de Fidget House. Les oreilles fragiles ou habituées au top 50 de MTV pourront se passer de ce mix.
I shall not dare to announce that all these producers who in a frenzy of remixers have aggregated all that could have marked the Nineties, will pass to make what journalists call Fidget House, a style which will blow up or will remain confidential. According to me, works of Switch, Hervé, Sinden, Crookers and others are true exquotations, excitations with this mixture of styles which speak to me. I understand those who will hate this music (too strange, too hard, too speed, too...) but for those who lived listening Jungle, House, Hip-Hop of the Nineties, and even sounds of Dance Music, should find an interest or maybe more a pleasure.

Comme vous le savez en lisant mon blog, passer d'un genre musical à un autre n'est pas un défaut mais une nécessité, preuve d'une certaine ouverture d'esprit ou de curiosité. C'est pour cela que j'ai une affection particulière pour le duo de producteurs, Pharrell Williams et Chad Hugo, qui donnent autant dans le hip-hop et le R'nB que dans le rock, notamment avec leur projet N.E.R.D. et la sortie de leur nouvel album.
Certainement pas l'album de l'année, "Seeing Sounds" recèle tout de même de quelques pépites dont "Spaz" dont je ne parviens à me lasser. A vous de voir si l'effet est le même pour vous !
As you notice it by reading my blog, to travel through a musical style to an other is not a defect but a necessity, proof of a real opening of mind or curiosity. It is the reason why I have a particular affection for the duet of producers, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, who give as much in hip-hop and R'nB as in rock, notably with their project N.E.R.D. and the release of their new album.
Indeed not the album of the year, "Seeing Sounds" really conceals some nuggets of which "Spaz" I can't be fed up. Let's see if effect is the same for you!
Telle la météo actuelle, les éclaircies quand elles sont rares sont des plaisirs intenses. Santogold qui illumine depuis le début de l'année avec un excellent album, méritait toutes les louanges auxquelles elle a eu droit. Avec un grand merci pour les producteurs de l'ombre qui l'ont mise sur orbite, les bien connus de ce blog, Switch et Diplo.
C'était sans compter aux deuxièmes vies offertes par les producteurs remixeurs (les bons surtout !) pour offrir de nouvelles perspectives aux chansons. Et parmi ceux-ci les nouveaux venus Radioclit, de l'écurie de Sinden, Counterfeet. "Get It Up" devient un morceau jouissif, tribal où Gorilla Zoe se prend pour Rakim, MC que l'on ne présente plus, Santogold et MIA donnent tout ce qu'elles ont, portées par ces boucles de chants d'incantations divines. La magie opère.
As the nowadays weather, the short sunshine moments are pure intense pleasures. Santogold who has been shining since the beginning of this year with her excellent LP, deserves all commendations she received. With a special thanks to the producers of shadow who put her on orbit, the well-known of this blog, Switch and Diplo.
But it was with forgetting in second lives offered by the remixers producers (all good ones!) to all tracks with new dimensions. And among them these newcomers Radioclit, of the Sinden's crew, Counterfeet."Get It Up" becomes a really great and tribal tune on which Gorilla Zoe becomes Rakim, famous MC I do not need to introduce anymore, Santogold and MIA give all they have, carried by these singing curls of divine conjurations. Magic operates.

Oscillant entre nu-jazz, broken et break beat, Unusual & Electric vient de sortir un nouvel EP "Pulsating Ting" qui vaut le détour. Notamment le "Venturi Reprise", ou le morceau d'abstract hip-hop intersidéral accéléré. C'est une ôde aux voyages direction le paradis. Chaudement recommandé !

Au côté du tubesque "His Imperial Majesty", se place également un autre grand morceau "Ethiopian Kings". Le riddim est nickel avec une guitare wah-wah des plus fantastiques et surtout sa voix qui rappelle celle de Horace Andy. Roots Rastafarai, Man !

Produced by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip, with the voice of the singer of Dead Disco, Victoria Hesketh, it's a 21st century psychedelic pop, terribly heady. This song could have been the best trak of Kylie Minogue, too bad for her. Maybe that's better like this!
Derrière Kumi Solo se cache en fait Kumi Okamoto, connue pour faire partie du groupe The Konki Duet et surtout de l'excellent duo tokyoite et francophile, Crazy Curl (Channel Pro). Cette japonaise parisienne lance maintenant sa carrière solo, toujours sur fond d'une pop sucrée enfantine pleine de candeur typique du pays du soleil levant. L'influence Yelle au niveau des couleurs, des sonorités est perceptible sur les morceaux de Kumi Solo.
Le clip de "Danse Music" est colorée comme la musique. La mélodie est simpliste mais accrocheuse. En l'écoutant dans mon ipod, j'avais l'impression de marcher non plus à Paris mais dans le monde de Mario ou Zelda, l'impression de vivre un moment d'une légèreté inhabituelle. Une sorte de bouffée d'oxygène.

Présentation rapide de Fred Falke, un producteur français de house made in France. Il est l'accolyte d'Alan Braxe avec qui il avait enregistré "Intro", un de mes morceaux préférés de l'époque French Touch premier épisode. Depuis 10 ans, Fred Falke a surtout fait des remixes dont les plus marquants "Yeah Yeah" de Bodyrox, "Colours" de Hot Chip. Pas grand chose par contre en terme de productions nouvelles jusqu'à ce nouveau mini album "Music For My Friends" qui nous permet de reprendre goût à cette une house efficace, légère à tendance pop, sa marque de fabrique.
Quatre titres, quatre styles différents, une cohérence totale. Entre "Last Wave", morceau disco industrialisé , "Sanctuary" qui rappelle les productions de Kavinsky et cette surenchère de synthés, "808pm @ The Beach", un titre lounge uptempo proche des productions de son ami Alan Braxe. But nothing special of new productions until thiw new mini album "Music For My Friends" that allows us to resume a taste for this house, efficient and slight with a tendency to pop music, his trademark.

Is it still necessary to present Felix Da Housecat? I do not think so when I see his status as a worldwide DJ superstar. I confess not to be a big fan of his productions, but he ensures when he mixes, it is a fact!

In contrast, remixes worth a listenning: the version of DatA is a new wave funky ballad, followed by a crazy breakbeat replay by Junior Sanchez. The last remix of the Japanese Shinichi Osawa who makes the "Radio" of Felix Da Housecat sounding as a new ttrack that Digitalism could have composed for their next album. Fan of Kitsuné opus, you will love this remix.

Au sein de l'écurie, un certain Jamie Lloyd dont les productions à la fois mélodiques et luxuriantes devraient lui offrir une réputation qui dépassera la blogosphère. L'électro downtempo qui frôle la deep house revient sur le devant de la scène et c'est tant mieux.
Le remix de "May I?" a tout pour devenir un classique de chillout. Le suisse Quarion qui est le remixeur, rend ce morceau encore plus aérien, plus ensorcelant, retenant la sève relaxante d'une ambiance rétro-futuriste. Décontraction assurée...
Coups de coeur. I like Future Classic Records whose house music quality is a trademark. Within the stables, Jamie Lloyd whose productions at once lush and melodic should offer him a reputation that exceeds the blogosphere. Electro downtempo verging on deep house is more and more hype and that's good news.
The remix of "May I?" has the potential to be a classic chillout tune. The Swiss Quarion who remixes it, makes this song even more air, more magical, retaining the cool sap of a retro-futuristicatmosphere. Relaxation for sure...
