Les fêtes sont passées, l'année 2009 vient de démarrer et je vous présente mes voeux. J'avais voulu conclure 2008 par un mix qui rende hommage à Paris. Tous les titres choisis comporte le nom de ma ville préférée (c'est pourquoi j'y vis), toutes les époques et tous les styles de musique y sont représentées. C'est ça Paris !

I wish you Happy New Year and do hope you will enjoy 2009. I wanted to conclude 2008 with a mix dedicated to Paris. All tracks names include the name of my favourite city (that's why I'm living here), all periods and all musical styles are represented. It's So Paris!

Parler de musique argentine consistait à se résumer au mieux à Carlos Gardel. Mais depuis 2001, des français, Eduardo Makaroff, Philippe Cohen Solal et Christoph H Muller, tentaient de remédier à cela en invitant le monde entier à un voyage dans le pays, capitale du tango. Nom de code : Gotan Project. Ils font appel aux légendes vivantes d'une des musiques les plus "précieuses" en y intégrant des éléments nouveaux à savoir de l'électro.

Le résultat donne un premier opus "La revancha del Tango" qui est un carton partout dans le monde. Selon moi, l'idée était excellente malgré un album trop produit, un son trop lisse. Qu'importe, car c'est ce qu'il faut pour être repris dans la publicité, preuve d’une certaine facilité d’écoute. Ce mélange estampillé électro-tango-lounge ne pouvait que nous apporter quelques doutes sur un second volet. "Lunatico" sorti également sur le label XL qui accueille The Raconteurs de Jack White, ou encore Thom Yorke de Radiohead qui sortira d'ici quelques mois un album solo "The Eraser", est une surprise d'un niveau supérieur à son prédécesseur. "Lunatico"est plus «acoustique», l’électronique y étant certainement mieux utilisé et donc plus discret. Alternant tempo élevé ou ralenti, l'esprit percutant et mélancolique du tango est là, enrichi par la voix suave et profonde de Cristina Vilallonga. Le tubesque "Diferente" devrait mettre tout le monde d'accord. A retenir également cette fusion entre tango et rap avec le titre "Mi Confesion". Sans être l'album de l'année, Gotan Project a réussi à passer le second tour.

Le vrai bijou de "Lunatico" est le dernier morceau de l'album "Paris, Texas". Il s'agit d'un clin d’œil au film de Wim Wenders qui croise avec brio tango, douce mélancolie et ambiance cinématographique. A l'image du tango, classe et voluptueux.

The true jewel of “Lunatico” is the last piece of the album “Paris, Texas”. It is about a wink to film of Wim Wenders which crosses with brilliance tango, soft melancholy and cinematographic atmosphere. With the talent of tango, classifies and voluptuous.
